The Federal Government has officially opened applications for admission into Federal Technical Colleges nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to free, skills-based education for Nigerian youths.

The development was announced by the Federal Ministry of Education following approval by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON. The initiative is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technical and vocational education as a pathway to employment, innovation, and economic growth.

According to the Ministry, registration for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Federal Technical Colleges will commence on Monday, 26 January 2026, and close on Sunday, 24 May 2026. The entrance examination is scheduled to hold nationwide on Saturday, 6 June 2026.

Applicants are required to possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), which is mandatory for completing the registration process. The Ministry reiterated that education in Federal Technical Colleges remains fully funded by the Federal Government, eliminating tuition costs and easing financial burdens on families.

Admission is open to candidates aged 13 to 20 years, with parents and guardians advised to ensure strict compliance with all application guidelines. Prospective applicants are also cautioned to rely solely on official information released by the Federal Ministry of Education and authorised examination bodies to avoid misinformation.

The Federal Government noted that the programme is designed to equip young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant skills that promote self-reliance, youth empowerment, and increased national productivity, while supporting long-term economic sustainability.

All applications are to be completed through the official National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) portal at:
