The ECOWAS Community Court of Justice has opened several job opportunities for qualified professionals across West Africa. The Court is inviting applications from competent and experienced individuals to support its administrative, legal, research, and operational activities.

These vacancies are part of efforts to strengthen the institution’s capacity in delivering justice and supporting regional integration within ECOWAS member states.

Available Positions

The Court is currently recruiting for the following roles:

  • Principal Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation/Planning

  • Librarian

  • Senior Research Officer

  • Reproduction Clerk

  • Office Aide (Judge’s Office)

  • Public Information Assistant

  • Other supporting and administrative positions

Each role has specific qualifications, experience requirements, and responsibilities. Applicants are advised to review the job descriptions carefully before submitting an application.

Who Can Apply?

The vacancies are open to qualified candidates from ECOWAS member states who meet the educational and professional requirements for their preferred position.

Depending on the role, applicants may need:

  • Relevant academic qualifications

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills

Working knowledge of English and/or French may be required for certain positions, considering the regional nature of the Court.

About the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice

The ECOWAS Community Court of Justice is the judicial institution of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The Court is responsible for:

  • Interpreting and applying ECOWAS treaties and protocols

  • Addressing cases involving member states and community institutions

  • Promoting human rights, justice, and the rule of law across the region

Successful candidates will work in a professional and multicultural environment while contributing to regional development and legal cooperation.
