The Police Service Commission has cautioned applicants taking part in the ongoing Nigeria Police recruitment exercise to avoid a technical mistake that could disrupt their registration.

The Commission said it has observed that many applicants are experiencing problems during registration due to the use of the browser back button, especially those applying from cyber cafés or shared devices. According to PSC, this practice can interfere with the application process and may lead to incomplete submissions or incorrect applicant details.

In an advisory issued on the matter, the Commission explained that the issue usually occurs when candidates attempt to move backward during registration instead of following the proper navigation process. This often results in overlapping sessions, particularly when several applicants use the same computer.

PSC stressed that every application must begin afresh from the official recruitment homepage using the correct link provided. Applicants were advised not to resume previous sessions or rely on the browser’s back button at any stage of the process.

The Commission also warned candidates using shared systems to be cautious of leftover data from earlier users. Signs such as prefilled forms or active login sessions may indicate that the browser is still holding information from another applicant.

To avoid such complications, PSC advised applicants to completely close all browser windows and tabs before starting a new registration. Reopening the browser ensures that cached data and previous session details are cleared, allowing each applicant to submit their information independently and securely.

The Commission urged all candidates to follow the guidelines strictly to avoid errors that could affect their chances in the recruitment exercise. Applicants with questions or technical concerns were advised to contact the official recruitment portal or designated support channels for assistance.
