Google has opened applications for its 2026 paid internship and apprenticeship programmes for students and recent graduates across different academic levels.

The opportunities are available to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students and cover both technical and non technical roles. Selected participants will work with Google teams on real projects while receiving structured training, mentorship and competitive pay.

The 2026 programme is part of Google’s annual effort to support early career talent and provide practical industry experience in a professional work environment.

Internship opportunities available

Google’s 2026 internship openings cut across research, engineering and business functions. Roles are offered in several countries, with some positions allowing remote or hybrid work depending on location and department.

One of the key openings is the Student Researcher Internship, which is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students. This role is designed for students studying fields such as computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, linguistics and natural sciences. Interns work closely with research and engineering teams on data driven and technical projects.

Google is also offering Silicon Engineering and Software Engineering Internships for 2026. These roles are mainly targeted at PhD students with strong technical backgrounds. Interns contribute to system design, software development and advanced engineering solutions. These internships typically last between 12 and 14 weeks.

For students interested in non technical roles, Google has opened applications for its Business Undergraduate Internship. This paid programme is open to Bachelor’s degree students and covers areas such as sales, marketing, finance, programme management and operations. Participants receive training and mentorship while supporting Google’s business teams. Pay for these roles is competitive and based on a pro rated annual structure.

In addition to internships, Google also offers apprenticeship programmes and other student roles such as cloud engineering intern, product design intern and student developer training opportunities. These roles are structured, paid and listed on Google’s official careers portal.

Payment and support

All Google internships and apprenticeships are paid positions. Depending on the role and location, interns may also receive housing stipends or relocation support.

Interns are treated as full members of their teams and are expected to contribute to ongoing projects while learning from experienced professionals.

Who is eligible to apply

The programmes are open to students currently enrolled in recognised tertiary institutions. Eligible applicants include undergraduate students, postgraduate students and PhD candidates.

Some roles may also be open to recent graduates, depending on the specific job listing. Requirements vary by position, so applicants are advised to read each job description carefully before applying.

Applicants must meet academic and skill requirements stated in the job listing and be available for the full duration of the internship or apprenticeship.

What participants gain

Participants in Google’s internship and apprenticeship programmes gain practical work experience in a global technology company. Interns work on real projects, receive mentorship and build professional networks that can support future career growth.

The programmes also provide exposure to Google’s work culture and development processes. Many former interns have gone on to secure full time roles in technology, business and research fields.

Internships typically run for 12 to 14 weeks, especially for summer roles, while apprenticeship timelines vary depending on the programme.

How to apply

Interested applicants should apply through Google’s official careers website.  ( https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/ )

Applicants are required to visit the Google Careers portal and search for internship or apprenticeship roles using keywords such as Intern, Student Researcher, Software Engineering Intern, Business Intern or Apprenticeship.

Once a suitable role is found, applicants must complete the online application form and upload required documents, including a CV or resume and academic information.

Deadlines differ by role, but many 2026 internship listings indicate a closing date around March 31, 2026. Applicants are advised to confirm deadlines on each job listing and apply early due to high competition
