The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released a major clarification following the spread of a false recruitment circular online. Many applicants have been confused over claims that the 2025 physical screening and document verification will begin between 15–19 December 2025.

NgEmpower has been monitoring verified sources, and here is the CDCFIB Latest News today.

The Board has now officially disowned the announcement, warning applicants not to rely on social media broadcasts or WhatsApp messages circulating outside the verified platforms.

This update explains what is happening, why CDCFIB portal has not opened, when the real physical screening date may be announced, and what every shortlisted applicant should prepare for at this stage.

This update is important for all applicants under the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) who have been waiting for the next stage of recruitment.

Breaking News: CDCFIB Confirms Fake Screening Circular is NOT From the Board

CDCFIB Confirms Fake Screening Circular is NOT From the Board

According to CDCFIB management, the circular making rounds online is entirely fabricated. The Board stated that:

  • No date has been fixed for the physical screening yet.

  • The viral circular was not issued by the CDCFIB.

  • Applicants should ignore any screening timetable coming from unofficial sources.

This clarification came after thousands of applicants shared a document claiming that screening would begin on the 15th of December. The Board noted that such information did not originate from its official website or verified social accounts.

Why the Physical Screening Date Has Not Been Announced

Based on internal updates, the Board is still working on:

1. Verification of CBT Results

Not all CBT results were displayed immediately due to backend validations. The Board is reviewing:

  • Suspicious scores

  • Duplicate submissions

  • System-flagged results

  • Violations recorded during the CBT

This has contributed to the delay in announcing the next stage.

2. State-Specific Screening Logistics

Physical screening takes place in all 36 states and the FCT, and each location requires:

  • Security personnel

  • Verification officers

  • Screening equipment

  • Attendance lists

  • Approved venues

Until logistics are finalized, screening dates cannot be released.

3. Confirmation of Shortlisted Candidates

Although many applicants passed the CBT, only a percentage will proceed. The final list is still being compiled based on:

  • Merit

  • Federal Character distribution

  • Service-specific needs (NIS, NSCDC, NCoS, FFS)

This must be completed before venues and dates are made public.

Update on the Screening Portal: Why It Has Not Opened

The circular circulating online claimed the portal would open on 1 December 2025 for applicants to choose their venue and screening date.

This claim is FALSE.

CDCFIB confirmed that:

  • The portal has not been activated for screening.

  • The Board will announce the real opening date publicly.

  • No applicant should attempt to select a venue yet.

Many applicants who tried accessing the portal earlier noticed that:

  • The dashboard remained unchanged

  • The screening section did not appear

  • No venue selection options were available

This confirms that the portal has not been programmed for screening at this stage.

Rumour vs. Fact: Clearing Common Misconceptions

Rumour: Screening begins on 15–19 December

Fact: CDCFIB has not fixed any date.

Rumour: All shortlisted candidates must print screening slips now

Fact: No printing is required yet.

Rumour: Venue selection must be done before 3 December

Fact: Venue selection portal has NOT opened.

Rumour: Applicants must pay money to be included in the next stage

Fact: CDCFIB recruitment is completely free.

What Applicants Should Expect Next

Here is the correct sequence of stages for the physical screening:

1. Official Screening Date Announcement

This will be released only via:

  • recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng

  • Official NIS social pages

  • Official NSCDC pages

  • NgEmpower.com updates

2. Portal Activation for Venue & Date Selection

Applicants will select:

  • Preferred screening date

  • Screening venue within their state

This stage may last 48–72 hours.

3. Release of Physical Screening Requirements

This will include:

  • Original documents

  • Photocopies

  • Passport photographs

  • CBT slip

  • Acknowledgement slip

4. Zonal Physical Screening

Screening will take place simultaneously across the country.

What You Must Do Now While Waiting for the Real Date

1. Gather all your documents

You must have:

  • Birth certificate / age declaration

  • Local Government identification

  • Academic certificates

  • NIN

  • CBT exam slip

  • Application slip

Missing documents may disqualify you.

2. Keep checking your portal

Avoid relying on random WhatsApp broadcasts.

3. Follow ONLY verified CDCFIB channels

Never trust:

  • Telegram groups claiming “insider updates”

  • WhatsApp broadcast flyers

  • Facebook pages without verification tags

4. Avoid paying anyone for screening or shortlisting

Fraudsters take advantage of delays to extort desperate applicants.

5. Stay healthy and physically ready

Screening may include:

  • Document verification

  • Basic physical checks

  • Fitness assessment (for some cadres)
