Federal Ministry of Education Releases 2026 TVET Shortlist, Candidates to Select Training Centres

The Federal Ministry of Education has released the shortlist for the 2026 Technical and Vocational Education and Training programme.

Applicants who previously saw “Pending” on their dashboard can now log in to confirm their status. Many shortlisted candidates have also received an email notification informing them of their selection.

The message reads that they have been successfully shortlisted for the Federal Ministry of Education TVET Programme and commends them for taking a step toward gaining industry relevant skills.

This update marks the next stage of the programme.

What Shortlisted TVET Candidates Should Do Next

Shortlisted trainees are required to select their preferred training centre through their dashboard.

To begin, candidates should click the “Select Training Centre” link sent to their email. After clicking the link, a list of available training centres will appear.

Applicants are expected to choose a centre closest to their location. Once a preferred centre is selected, click on “Select This Option” and then proceed to “Confirm Selection.”

After confirmation, the dashboard should update automatically to reflect the chosen skill area and training centre.

It is important to complete this process carefully to avoid errors in placement.

Shortlisted TVET Candidates Should Do Next

Physical Verification and Reporting

After selecting and confirming a training centre, shortlisted trainees must report physically to the centre for verification and registration.

Failure to report for physical verification may lead to cancellation of the offer. In such cases, the slot may be reassigned to another applicant whose status was previously pending.

Candidates are advised to take this requirement seriously and report within the timeline communicated by the programme coordinators.

Portal Login and Required Documents

Applicants should log in to the official TVET portal at www.tvet.education.gov.ng to check their shortlist status and access important resources.

Shortlisted candidates are required to download their ID card from the Resources section on the portal. The ID card must be printed and attached with a recent passport photograph.

This printed ID card will be presented at the training centre during physical verification.

Candidates who accept their placement may also be required to upload a recent photograph on the portal for identity confirmation.

Can You Reject Your Placement?

Yes. Shortlisted trainees have the option to either accept or reject their assigned training centre.

However, applicants are encouraged to review their options carefully before making a decision. Accepting the placement promptly increases the chances of securing the slot without complications.

What About Applicants Still Seeing “Pending”?

Applicants whose dashboard still shows “Pending” are advised to remain patient and continue checking the portal regularly.

The Ministry may update additional batches as verification continues. It is important to rely only on official updates from the Federal Ministry of Education and the TVET portal.

The release of the 2026 TVET shortlist is a major step for thousands of young Nigerians seeking practical skills and employability training.

Shortlisted candidates should act quickly, complete their centre selection, and prepare for physical verification to secure their place in the programme.
