The Jerry Eze Foundation has launched a new business empowerment programme valued at $360,000, aimed at supporting young Nigerians involved in agriculture, technology, and manufacturing.
The initiative was announced by Pastor Jerry Eze through a video message shared across his official social media platforms. He explained that the programme is structured to provide direct financial support to young people who are ready to either start viable businesses or strengthen existing operations within productive sectors of the economy.
Scope of the Empowerment Programme
A total of 120 beneficiaries will be selected nationwide under the scheme. Each participant is expected to receive no less than $3,000, with funds allocated based on business needs, scalability, and sector focus.
The empowerment grant is designed to support:
Startup capital for new ventures
Expansion funding for existing small businesses
Equipment acquisition
Operational support for early-stage enterprises
Agriculture, manufacturing, and technology were identified as priority sectors due to their potential to create employment and support economic productivity at both local and national levels.
Funding Oversight and Administration
The Jerry Eze Foundation disclosed that the entire process will be managed in partnership with a reputable international consulting firm. The firm will oversee application screening, selection of beneficiaries, and monitoring of fund disbursement.
According to the foundation, this structure is intended to ensure:
Clear application criteria
Transparent selection processes
Proper tracking of funds
Responsible utilisation of grants
The foundation noted that engaging an external firm would help maintain credibility and public confidence in the programme.
Increase in Beneficiary Numbers
Initially, the empowerment grant was announced for 100 young Nigerians, with a total funding pool of $300,000. However, Nigerian business executive Tonye Cole later pledged additional support for the initiative.
His contribution extended the programme to include 20 more beneficiaries, increasing the total fund to $360,000. Pastor Eze confirmed the development publicly, expressing appreciation for the support and noting that it would allow more young entrepreneurs to benefit from the scheme.
Focus on Sustainable Business Growth
The foundation stated that the programme is structured to support businesses that demonstrate practical ideas, clear operational plans, and the ability to grow over time. Beneficiaries are expected to deploy the funds responsibly toward activities that strengthen their enterprises and improve income stability.
Beyond funding, the foundation indicated that beneficiaries may receive guidance and follow-up support through the programme’s management structure, depending on the final implementation framework.
Alignment With Foundation Objectives
According to Pastor Eze, the empowerment initiative forms part of the foundation’s broader efforts to address economic challenges facing young Nigerians. The foundation has previously supported humanitarian, health, and social intervention programmes, and this grant represents a direct investment in youth enterprise development.
The focus, he explained, is on enabling young people to become self-reliant by providing the financial backing needed to turn practical ideas into functional businesses.
Application Process to Be Announced
As of the time of publication, official application guidelines have not yet been released. The Jerry Eze Foundation stated that details such as eligibility requirements, submission channels, and timelines will be announced through its verified communication platforms.
Prospective applicants have been advised to rely only on official updates and to avoid individuals or organisations requesting payment or claiming to offer guaranteed access to the grant.
Further updates will be shared once the application process opens.
