The Office of the Kogi Central Senatorial District has announced the commencement of applications for the Electric Motor Vehicle Technical Training Programme under the Operate and Own Model. The initiative is open to eligible indigenes and residents of Kogi Central who are interested in acquiring practical technical skills while creating sustainable income opportunities.

The programme is structured to train participants in the operation and maintenance of electric and solar-powered tricycles, supporting the adoption of clean energy solutions and promoting self-employment across the district.

Programme Overview

A total of 100 eligible participants will be selected to take part in the training. Those selected will undergo structured, hands-on technical instruction designed to prepare them for real-world operation of eco-friendly vehicles.

The Operate and Own Model allows participants to move from training into income generation. After completing the programme, beneficiaries will be positioned to operate and manage the vehicles independently, providing a pathway to long-term economic stability.

The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to encourage innovation, reduce unemployment, and support environmentally responsible transportation within Kogi Central communities.
