The Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission have announced the screening schedule for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables in 2026.
According to the official notice, physical and credential screening will begin on March 9, 2026 and end on April 18, 2026. The exercise will take place across all states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory.
This update applies to candidates who successfully completed the online registration process.
Screening Date and What Applicants Should Do
All applicants are required to log in to the official recruitment portal at https://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their application status.
Candidates must also print specific documents that will be presented at the screening venue on the date and time stated on their Invitation Slip.
Applicants are advised to carefully confirm their screening date, venue, and assigned table before reporting.
Documents Required for the Police Screening
Candidates must print and present the following documents:
Guarantors form
Application Submission Slip
Invitation Slip
Credentials Screening Form
Physical Screening Form
In addition to the printed forms, applicants must come along with the following original documents:
Invitation Slip with assigned table number
Original National Identity Number printout or NIMC card
O Level certificate such as GCE or SSCE
Birth certificate or declaration of age
Local Government or State of Origin certificate
Trade test certificate for specialist applicants only
Duly completed and signed Guarantors form with photocopies and passport photographs of referees attached
Candidates must also package their original credentials and duplicate copies neatly in two separate white flat files. Recent passport photographs should be attached.
Dress Code for Screening Exercise
Applicants are required to appear at their screening venue wearing:
White canvas shoes
White T shirt
White shorts
White stockings
Failure to comply with the dress code may affect participation in the exercise.
Screening Venues
The physical and credential screening will take place at designated locations within each state and the Federal Capital Territory. The exact venue details will be clearly stated on each candidate’s invitation slip.
Applicants are encouraged to arrive early and follow all instructions given by officials at the screening centres.
Recruitment Is Free, PSC Warns Against Scammers
The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu retired, has emphasized that the recruitment process is completely free.
He warned applicants to avoid online impostors, fraudsters, and individuals demanding payment in exchange for assistance or selection. According to the Commission, anyone caught attempting to defraud applicants will be arrested and prosecuted.
The Commission assured candidates that the recruitment exercise will be conducted with transparency and accountability.
Applicants are advised to rely only on official information from the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission.
