The Renaissance Care and Empowerment Foundation (RECEF) has announced a nationwide recruitment for Data Collectors to support its ongoing development programmes across Nigeria. The recruitment is open to qualified candidates in all 36 states and is strictly field-based.

Selected candidates will work directly within communities where RECEF operates, supporting accurate data collection that informs programme planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The Renaissance Care and Empowerment Foundation (RECEF) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-partisan organisation committed to sustainable development in Nigeria.

Role Overview: Data Collector

Data Collectors will serve as field-level officers, responsible for gathering accurate and reliable information from assigned communities and project locations. The role connects community realities with RECEF’s programme and analysis teams.

Accurate data is the foundation of effective development programmes. The information collected by RECEF Data Collectors helps shape decisions in health, education, economic empowerment, and community development projects. By gathering reliable data at the grassroots level, Data Collectors play a key role in ensuring that interventions reach the people who need them most.

Key Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Conduct structured data collection through surveys, interviews, and field observations

  • Use digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox and ODK for real-time data submission

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of collected data

  • Verify data quality before submission to analytical teams

  • Engage respectfully and professionally with community members and stakeholders

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical data collection standards at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess at least one of the following:

  • Ordinary National Diploma (OND)

  • National Certificate in Education (NCE)

  • Higher National Diploma (HND)

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred fields include Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, or related disciplines.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), data analytics, or community-based projects is an added advantage

  • Previous work with NGOs or development sector projects is desirable

  • Ability to use digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox or ODK

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data handling tools

  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills

  • Ability to work independently in diverse field environments

Location and Deployment

  • Recruitment is nationwide, covering all 36 states of Nigeria

  • Applicants must clearly state their state of residence

  • Deployment will be community and ward-based, depending on project needs
